28 hours. 100 students. Build what flies to help.

A weekend concept hackathon on drone-based emergency delivery, hosted by HORYZN at TUM LabCampus Munich Airport. Every team gets a Horyzn mentor. Food, drinks and the venue are on us.

Flight information

An ideation-and-concept hackathon around a real mission.

HORYZN is a student team at TUM building drone-based transport for emergency delivery. This hackathon puts that mission in your hands for a weekend: form a team, pick a challenge, and ship a concept — hardware, software, operations or business — by Sunday afternoon.

No aerospace background required. Every team gets a Horyzn mentor, and the best ideas are the ones nobody in the team has had yet.

Times may shift slightly; the final run of show goes to all accepted participants by mail the week before.

FAQ

Questions

Who can take part?

All TUM students, any degree and semester. First-semesters explicitly welcome — you don't need to know anyone yet.

Does it cost anything?

No. Participation, food and drinks are free.

What food is there? I have an allergy.

Every meal comes as two dishes: one vegan, one with meat. You pick one in the application. We can't cater for other diets. Severe allergy? Email [email protected] before the event and bring your own food if needed.

Do I need a team?

No. Apply solo and form a team on Saturday morning, or apply as a pre-formed team of 3–5.

Do I need drone or aerospace experience?

No. Challenges cover hardware, software, operations and business. Mentors fill the gaps.

Is it really overnight? Where do I sleep?

The venue stays open through the night. Bring a sleeping bag and mat if you want to rest on site — or take the last S-Bahn home and come back in the morning. Details in the participant mail.

How do I get to LabCampus?

S1 or S8 to Flughafen München, about 40 minutes from the city centre, then a short walk. Exact directions and first/last train times come with the participant mail.

What should I bring?

Laptop and charger, student ID, and whatever you need to be comfortable for 32 hours. We provide power, Wi-Fi, food, drinks and a T-shirt.
